Is anyone else hacking Language Lessons 4 to go along with the season? We decided to skip ahead to the beginning of the New Testament stories and My daughter has really been enjoying it! The God's Story book has been a great source to segue from our family study in the OT into the New Testament. We are enjoying the audiobook version despite it being a bit fiddly to work with. This year we are using a sketch journal for all of her Bible Story drawings. We have been going through the Old Testament from David on. Most of the assignments this semester have lined up with my Sunday School lessons for the Prek-1st graders at church so we review the lesson family style at home in between. We listen to the Bible passage and I have my oldest read some of the highlights. She then sketches while looking at a Bible illustration of her choice. ( This one was from a Sunday School take home paper with her own imagination mixed in for the background.) She is also trying to write narratives for each one (we tackle the scripture copywork in another setting.) We often read a storybook version as well to further cement the story in their minds.
